We recently did a survey of members on how we can best manage our booking system once national restrictions are lifted.

With all restrictions being lifted from Monday 19th July, we are still concerned that case numbers are continuing to rise in England and the safety of our staff and customers is paramount. We all have a responsibility to make sure we keep everyone as safe as possible, and as a leisure provider for many disabled and vulnerable people we will aim to do this.

Thank you to everyone who has complied with our Covid secure arrangement and for the survey feedback, emails and conversations about how we are operating. Many of you have said how much cleaner and organised the centre is and as such we will not be returning straight away to how things “used to be” from Monday.

We hope that you will agree with the measures and actions we will be putting in place and support us to ensure we can still provide a positive leisure experience for everybody.

    Please see the results

This is our action plan going forward:

Looking at the data along with the guidance and information from the RNOH we want to keep our services and facility as safe as possible. With this in mind we will be making the following changes:

Bookings to open from 10:00pm (rather than midnight). This will take effect from Sunday 18th July. This will initially start as a trial so please do give us your feedback.

    Gym

    • Gym capacity to increase to 20
    • Morning cleaning session to be kept where the gym is closed
    • Members should still book, but can book on arrival at reception (if its open) or with the instructor
    • Members can stay in the gym longer than the hour if space and can come earlier if there is space

*Please wait by the door and ring the bell. Sometimes our instructors are helping a customer or cleaning

    • The equipment currently out of use for social distancing can be used
    • We hope to be able to start assisted exercise sessions at limited times from September
    • Members still asked to clean equipment after use
    • Entry and exit points will remain the same

    Classes

    • Spin to increase to 14 (and will stay in the Dance studio for the time-being)
    • All other classes to have a slight increase in numbers
    • Zoom option will continue
    • Aqua (increase to 20 as the group changing rooms can be used) + 10 spaces for arrive swim ready
    • Entry and exit points will remain the same

    Swimming

    • Increase lane capacity to 6 initially
    • £2 non attendance fee to be charged from 1st September
    • Swimming lessons to remain as they are for the rest of the term

    Block bookings

    • Badminton, football and basketball to return

    Other changes:

    • Masks should still be worn in communal areas
    • The RNOH have asked us to continue with temperature checks
    • Hands should still be washed and sanitised
    • Please try to arrive ready to exercise but changing rooms can be used
    • Please continue to bring your own mats for classes if you have one
    • More than 6 will be allowed to sit together in the café but we advise you let the staff know in advance if you can

Still to be confirmed and under review:

    • Stickers on the changing room doors - For the moment we will keep this in place but if we open up more than 25 spaces, we won’t have the staffing levels to clean each cubicle ready for the next person.
    • Lockers – We hope to be able allow these to be used soon
    • Swimming Pool balcony - To open in September if safe to do so
    • Hair dryers – We hope to be able to turn these back on soon

If you have any other feedback or ideas on how we can maintain our high standards, please email us [email protected]

    Thank you
