This summer has seen a few staff changes, so I thought it was appropriate to give you an update:

Fitness Team leader

Sadly we said goodbye to Victor Nino who had been with us for a number of years. Victor has been a wonderful team leader and although he has left his role, I am delighted that he is staying on as a casual fitness instructor and duty manager. He has taken up a new role in the Spinal Cord Injury Unit at the RNOH, so I am sure we will still see him about.

This departure has given way to a new fitness team leader and Callum Biggins joins us to take on the task of managing the fitness team, building on the great relationship we have with our members and adding value where needed. Callum has a wealth of duty manager and fitness experience and will gladly talk to anyone about 'Strong man' competitions.

Pool Team Leader

We also say goodbye to Patryk Cichewicz as he takes a promotion with Everyone Active in Northolt. Patryk is a valued member of the team and we are currently looking at how we can give opportunities to the pool team before replacing him.

Conrad Mondesir-James who is our current senior lifeguard is going to be promoted to duty manager. This comes as we have been able to recruit 4 apprentice leisure assistants, who will all be training as fitness instructors and swimming teachers whilst working at the same time.

Facilities Manager

After 4 years of service, our facilities manager Leigh Hewitt will be leaving at the end of August to pursue a career in the health and safety sector with another charity. Whilst I am delighted for Leigh, he has been an incredibly valuable member of the team and has become one of my closes friends. I will be particularly sad to see him leave Aspire.

We will be interviewing in early September for Leigh's replacement, however they will certainty have big shoes to fill!

Other changes

It has been a real pleasure to be able to give our current team opportunities to learn and develop. We have been busy training Ricardo Lopez (Cleaning Supervisor), Myles Lake and Aaron Collins (Fitness Instructors) and George Varley (Kidzzone co-ordinator) as duty managers, who are all now able to cover duty manager shifts.

We are still recruiting for an evening cleaner, so if you know of anyone that might be interested please ask them to contact me [email protected]

Thank you
